Our client seeks a Field Tactical Network Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for Program Manager C2 Transport supporting PdM Network Modernization across At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks. The engineer will lead configuration, validation, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of tactical network systems, coordinate with systems engineering leads and stakeholder organizations, and brief leadership on systems engineering, network architecture, and testing status. The role supports network planning, setup, configuration, testing, and teardown in collaboration with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and embedded support teams.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $65.00 to $85.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Serve as focal point and SME for PdM NetMod across ATH, OTM, and SATCOM networks.
- Identify and report problems, recommend resolutions, and manage configuration and incident documentation.
- Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
- Provide technical leadership to align actions, schedules, and resolve conflicting viewpoints.
- Coordinate system development tasks with systems engineering leads based on integration challenges and new requirements.
- Oversee development and testing of SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software.
- Coordinate with embedded support teams to implement plans of action that meet PM objectives.
- Represent PM Tactical Network at planning conferences with units and partner organizations.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to integrate PM operations and objectives.
- Develop and present briefings on systems engineering, network architecture planning, and test efforts.
- Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown.
- Work closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel to coordinate activities.
Experience Requirements:
- Eight years of related tactical network engineering experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted with an additional seven years of related tactical network engineering experience.
- Extensive experience in network engineering with a record of delivering quality solutions.
- Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and related user services desired.
- Specialized experience as an engineer in industry or within active, reserve, or National Guard units desired.
- Experience with PdM Network Modernization products desired.
- Ability to work an uncommon tour including nights, weekends, and holidays as mission requires.
- Occasional travel as required.
- Mandatory: US citizenship and active Secret security clearance.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Testing, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, an additional seven years of related tactical network engineering experience may be substituted.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
