Job Description
Position Overview
At Stukent, we build simulations and digital courseware that help educators bring real-world skills into the classroom. As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), your goal is to connect educators with those tools - whether that is a college professor building a marketing course or a high school teacher running a business program.
This is an entry-level sales role with a clear path forward. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, learning the full sales process while making a real impact on students and educators alike. No two days look exactly the same, but the mission is consistent: find the right educators, get them into a product demo, and help them see how Stukent can improve the learning experience for both them and their students.
Depending on the team you join, you’ll focus on one of two markets. These are:
Higher Education - Reaching instructors and department leaders at colleges and universities.
- Driving Outbound & Inbound Lead Generation: Actively generating new business by cold-calling, emailing, prospecting decision-makers at colleges and universities, and qualifying inbound leads to feed the sales pipeline.
- Supporting the Account Executive (AE): Partnering closely with the regional AE to schedule product demos, consistently follow up on active leads, and strategically plan the logistics and outreach for high-priority campus visits.
- Assisting with Customer Renewals: Monitoring current accounts, proactively reaching out to clients ahead of renewal windows, and flagging at-risk customers to the Customer Success Manager to protect existing revenue.
- Managing Regional Operations & CRM Data: Maintaining an accurate and clean Salesforce database by logging outreach, updating pipelines, and executing the territory's broader sales strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working highly collaboratively within a dynamic team environment alongside sales, marketing, and customer success to collectively hit regional revenue goals.
Career & Technical Education (CTE) - Reaching high school teachers and district contracts running CTE programs in areas like business, agriculture, and hospitality.
- Developing Knowledge of the High School CTE Market: Building a strong understanding of how high school CTE programs function, including district decision-making, teacher and administrator roles, course pathways, CTSOs, budget cycles, school-year timing, and the unique needs of high school educators.
- Prospecting Net-New Districts: Researching schools, districts, staff directories, CTE departments, CTSO advisors, and course offerings to identify educators who are a strong fit for Stukent CTE resources within your assigned territory.
- Managing Free Trial Follow-Up: Prioritizing inbound free trial requests, quickly reviewing teacher context, sending customized first-touch outreach, attempting same-day calls, and guiding educators toward product demos.
- Supporting Demo Creation & Pipeline Growth: Your primary responsibility is to schedule qualified product demos for high school CTE educators and district stakeholders by connecting Stukent’s resources to their specific courses, programs, and classroom needs.
- Collaborating Closely Across the High School Team: Working as part of a hands-on, highly connected regional team where SDRs, account executives, curriculum consultants, customer success, marketing, and leadership regularly collaborate on outreach strategy, educator follow-up, and pipeline movement. This role requires openness to feedback and support from multiple team members, flexibility across responsibilities, and a willingness to jump in where needed to help move opportunities forward.
What You’ll Do
Your core focus is building a pipeline and booking demos. Day-to-day, that looks like:
- Reaching out to educators through calls, emails, and personalized outreach.
- Following up with inbound leads and people who’ve shown interest in Stukent’s products.
- Booking product demos with the Account Executive in your region for prospective customers.
- Keeping your pipeline organized and your CRM records up to date in Salesforce.
- Working closely with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to move deals forward and support current customers.
- Helping plan campus or conference visits and following up to advance conversations after the fact.
- Supporting miscellaneous initiatives, such as Salesforce cleanup or driving participation at a product launch webinar.
Who You Are
You don’t need a background in education or EdTech to thrive here — we’ll teach you what you need to know. What matters most:
- You’re organized and can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
- You communicate clearly and confidently, whether that’s on a cold call or in a follow-up email.
- You’re coachable and genuinely want to get better at your craft.
- You’re self-motivated and don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to stay on task.
- You enjoy talking to people and can build rapport quickly.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and sending personalized outreach.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with team goals and processes.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities throughout the day.
Nice to have:
- Prior sales, SDR, BDR, or customer-facing experience.
- Familiarity with EdTech, education, or SaaS.
- Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM.
Location: This position is on-site based in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
