Overview
Speech Language Pathologist needed for acute care in a long-term care setting in Glendive, Montana. This travel, temporary assignment begins 07/13/2026 for 13 weeks, with 36 guaranteed hours per week and a dayshift schedule. Compensation ranges from $2,121 to $2,272 per week, paid on a per-week basis. The role focuses on evaluating and treating residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs in a skilled nursing environment. Licensure and certification requirements will be specified by the hiring organization and must align with state guidelines for practice.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology assessments and swallowing/communications evaluations for residents, following physician orders and treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans addressing communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders; document progress and outcomes.
- Provide direct, evidence-based therapy to residents and adjust interventions based on clinical progress and safety considerations.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, dietary, therapy, and medical staff) to coordinate care plans, safety, and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; ensure compliance with regulatory and facility policies.
- Monitor patient response to therapy, communicate changes to the care team, and participate in care conferences and family updates as needed.

Requirements
- Active state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the United States or eligibility for licensure in the practicing state; alignment with Montana requirements if practicing there.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or equivalent licensure/certification as applicable.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience in acute care or skilled nursing (long-term care) settings preferred.
- Ability to work in a structured long-term care environment with residents across a range of ages and diagnoses.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team; basic computer and charting proficiency.
