Field Estimator

Express Employment Professionals – Tyler, TX is seeking a Field Estimator for a well-established industrial company in the East Texas area. This role supports bidding and pricing for field construction projects and product manufacturing, helping management accurately quote work for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects, construction projects, and related services to support bidding and pricing decisions.

• Compile material takeoffs and lists of tools, fixtures, and equipment needed, using your knowledge of tank fabrication, welding procedures, blueprints, and applicable codes (API, ASME, and customer specifications).

• Identify which tools, fixtures, and equipment should be manufactured in-house versus purchased from outside suppliers.

• Calculate costs for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities, and labor to build accurate, competitive quotes.

• Communicate directly with customers regarding bids, requirements, clarifications, and any changes needed to ensure accurate proposals.

• Submit bid proposals to management for review and approval, and update quotes when project scope or requirements change

• Coordinate as needed with shop and field foremen regarding job progress and revisions.

• Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering detail drawings and material lists.

• Strong math skills with the ability to compute more complex formulas related to estimating and project costs.

• Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol testing per company policy.

Working Conditions & Schedule

• Full-time, on-site position with desirable working conditions in a professional industrial environment.
• Daytime schedule; specific hours and pay rate will be discussed during the interview based on experience and qualifications.
