ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN THE LIBERAL ARTS & SCIENCES DIVISION
POSITION: Professor, Philosophy
Description of Duties:
Primarily responsible for teaching fifteen (15) credit hours per semester in the area of Philosophy. Maintain a minimum of twenty-seven and one-half (27.5) equated office hours per week. Responsible for program development, curriculum development, advising/mentoring students and participating in student retention and transfer activities. Serve on Humanities Division and College-wide committees. Participate in Campus faculty development opportunities. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Division Dean.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Philosophy or Master's degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Philosophy. Two (2) years of college teaching experience. Flexible delivery methods to accommodate individual learning styles. Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word and Outlook). Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.
Desired Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree with thirty (30) graduate hours. Recent experience teaching Philosophy courses at a community college. Experience with Canvas. Interest in and knowledge of distance learning and delivery of online courses.
