Our team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and professional support staff handle all aspects of eye/vision care, from general exams to complex surgeries. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines the vision and ocular pathways of patients of all ages for vision errors/disorders, ocular diseases, ocular trauma/infections, and systemic ocular complications
- Monitors ocular health for systemic conditions
- Communicates with patients to get detailed case histories
- Uses ophthalmic equipment for diagnostic testing and subjective and objective interpretation
- Performs refractions for eyeglasses, contact lenses, or specialty lens prescriptions
- Manages fitting, ordering, and dispensing of eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions
- Provides advice, reassurance, and patient care on vision-related matters
- Makes proper and prompt referrals and provides adequate documentation as needed
- Directs dispensing opticians and clerical staff

Requirements:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment
- Knowledge of current OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of color code conventions used in component and wiring marking
- Knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery Center testing requirements
- Ability to analyze, repair and test electronic and electromechanical equipment
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance inspections
- Ability to run diagnostic programs
- Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation
- Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests
- Skill in testing electronic equipment
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED
- Three to five-years related experience and/or technical school training
- OSHA 10 Certification within six months of obtaining position
- Current Valid California Driver’s License
- OSHA 30 Certification (preferred)
