Job Description: Cashier and Sales Associate at a Vape and Tobacco Shop.

Position Overview:

As a Cashier and Sales Associate at our Vape and Tobacco Shop, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional customer service and maximizing sales opportunities.
Your primary responsibilities will involve processing transactions accurately, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Additionally, you will be expected to have a good understanding of vaping and tobacco products to provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer questions, concerns, and requests.
Assist customers in finding suitable vaping and tobacco products based on their preferences and needs.
Offer product knowledge and make recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
Handle customer complaints or issues, ensuring they are resolved promptly and satisfactorily.

Cash Handling and Transactions:

Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
Accept payments in various forms, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments.
Calculate and provide accurate change to customers.
Maintain accountability for cash drawer and ensure it balances at the end of each shift.
Follow all cash handling procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy in cash handling.

Product Knowledge and Merchandising:

Stay up to date with the latest trends, regulations, and product knowledge in the vaping and tobacco industry.
Familiarize yourself with the inventory and pricing of different vaping and tobacco products.
Ensure shelves are stocked and products are displayed neatly and attractively.
Monitor inventory levels and inform the store manager when products need to be restocked.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including product shelves, displays, and the cash counter area.

Compliance and Safety:

Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the sale of vaping and tobacco products.
Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions and legal requirements.
Follow proper safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials and maintaining a safe store environment.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the store manager immediately.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store goals and objectives.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and the store manager to ensure smooth operations.
Assist with receiving and restocking inventory when necessary.
Support fellow team members during busy periods or when extra help is required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Prior experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong cash handling and mathematical skills.
Knowledge of vaping and tobacco products is an advantage.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and inventory management.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
