Job SummaryWe are seeking compassionate and dependable State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA/CNA) or Equivalent Experienced Caregivers to join our team for weekend shifts in a home care setting. As a Weekend STNA/Caregiver, you will provide high-quality care to seniors and individuals needing assistance, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. This role is perfect for those seeking work-life balance during the week while earning premium pay on weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Support mobility and transfers (e.g., using gait belts, wheelchairs, or hoyer lifts as needed).
- Serve meals, assist with feeding, and monitor nutritional intake.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and engage clients in meaningful activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Observe and document resident behavior, health status, and any incidents.
- Follow individualized care plans and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Assist with incontinence care, skin integrity checks, and basic wound care under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Preferred but not required, Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification strongly preferred (or equivalent CNA with Ohio approval).
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health, or as a caregiver (1+ year preferred, but new grads or experienced non-certified caregivers may be considered).
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to lift/transfer residents (up to 50+ lbs), bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance (for in-home care positions).
- Clear background check, drug screen, and up-to-date immunizations (including TB test and COVID vaccination as required).
- Availability to work every weekend or every other weekend (flexible options available).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with dementia/Alzheimer's care or rehabilitation patients.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
