About This Role
Our Academic Enrichment Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and refining our Montessori programs, bringing a deep understanding of the philosophy, educational practices, and a passion for creating a supportive learning environment.
What You'll Do
The Academic Enrichment Specialist will be an integral part of our educational team, working closely with center management, teachers, and other staff members to provide training and support on philosophy, materials, and instructional strategies. They will assist in the implementation of long-term plans and policies as defined by the Vice President of Education to ensure the stability of our current programs. Our programs incorporate the Virginia State curriculum known as STREAMin3.
- Stay updated on trends and research in education to inform program development.
- Collaborate with management and teachers to integrate principles into existing curriculum.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and enrichment programs.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and parent education sessions on programs.
- Attend educational department and school meetings, conferences or trainings as directed.
- Create and distributes certificates for training sessions as required.
- Develop and implement enrichment programs aligned with developmental stages of students.
- Provide training and support to teachers on philosophy, materials, and instructional strategies.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the centers located across Virginia.
- Flexibility to work hours based on the needs of the school and program.
- Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the position as called for throughout the day, including but not limited to lifting; getting up and down on the floor; bending to the child’s level; and standing for an undetermined amount of time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years' experience in education and two (2) years' experience either running or supervising a classroom(s).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
