About This Role
The Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher is a vital team member in creating a supportive, engaging, and structured learning environment for four-year-old children, working closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure academic, social, and emotional growth.
This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, implementing lessons, and promoting a positive and well-organized classroom atmosphere, all while maintaining a deep understanding of Bright from the Start (DECAL) standards and Chroma Early Learning Academy protocols.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily classroom activities and ensure the overall well-being of a group of children
- Develop and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment that fosters creativity and exploration
- Comply with all rules, regulations, and protocols at Chroma Early Learning Academy and local, state, and national agencies regarding child health, safety, and care
- Support each child's social, emotional, and creative development, providing positive guidance and encouragement
- Conduct ongoing assessments of each child's developmental needs and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules in line with Chroma Early Learning Academy's curriculum and programming
- Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that inspires children to express themselves confidently
- Offer positive reinforcement and set clear, consistent expectations for children's behavior
- Take responsibility for classroom upkeep, common areas, and playgrounds, as well as participating in necessary housekeeping duties
- Attend all staff meetings, workshops, and school functions, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices
- Adhere to professional standards and appearance, as outlined in the Chroma Early Learning Academy Employee Handbook
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
Requirements
- CDA, TCC, TCD, Paraprofessional Certificate, Associate’s Degree (AA, AS, AAS, AAT) or higher credential in child development, early childhood education, family and child development, elementary education, educational leadership
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Satisfactory Background Check
