Patient Services Representative

Work Location: Optum WellMed at White Rock Clinic
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Contract Duration: 06/15/2026 – 12/31/2026
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is responsible for creating a positive patient experience through efficient scheduling, registration, communication, and coordination of clinic services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments accurately.
- Answer incoming phone calls and address patient inquiries promptly.
- Collect co-pays and process patient payments as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records within electronic health record systems.
- Assist patients with completing forms and required documentation.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinic staff.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Support daily front-office operations and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and patient interaction abilities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn healthcare software systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
