Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position will be to support manufacturing, maintenance, and quality, complete capital and facility projects and monitor/maintain processes. The goal will be to keep the extrusion lines running continuously and efficiently while producing a product that meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Designing, planning and implementing improvements to all aspects of the production processes to continually improve the efficiency of each department.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with Modern-Mill Safety Policies and Procedures
- Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
- Set and Start-up the lab extruder for trials
- Manage projects both capital and facility
- Manage budgets and complete timelines
- Write reports, create graphs, and complete presentations in front of Senior Staff
- Understand chemical formulations
- Work unsupervised or with a team environment
- Examine product for defects and correct them.
- Measure the product to ensure it is within Modern-Mill Specs.
- Notify Management/Supervisor/Quality of any quality or equipment issues.
- Can use software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of extrusion processes
- Mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to work long hours
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Degree Preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in similar role without degree is acceptable
- Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Prolong standing or in stationary position
- Complete repetitive movements such as typing
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
- Complete repetitive movements
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and safety shoe protection)
- Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
