Position Overview: Education Program Quality Lead

The Program Quality Lead plays a leadership role in overseeing daily operations for our Monterey County teams and ensuring top quality program delivery. This individual is responsible for ensuring a safe, organized, and engaging program experience for students while supporting and developing a team of instructors.



The ideal candidate for this position is based in the Salinas Valley and is available to be in person, on site, five days per week, at a minimum 2PM - 6PM.



Position is 25 hours per week with possibility of advancement to full time within 3-6 months based on performance.



This is a hands-on, on-site role that combines program execution, staff leadership, and relationship management with school partners and families. The Program Manager ensures that all aspects of the programfrom scheduling and staffing to activities and communicationrun smoothly and effectively. This role will be on various school sites 4 afternoons per week, with one day per week in our corporate office.



Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with school leaders, office staff, and site personnel
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the school site and ensure alignment with site expectations
  • Coordinate and support the organization, planning, and implementation of community showcases, student exhibitions, and family engagement nights that celebrate student learning and participation.
  • Communicate regularly with school partners to ensure seamless program integration
  • Ensure Instructors are on time and delivering high quality programs

Program Operations

  • Adapt company programming to meet the specific needs of the assigned site
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment for students and staff

Team Management

  • Hire, train, and supervise program staff in collaboration with the recruiting team
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations
  • Lead staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
  • Address performance concerns and support staff growth
  • Schedule staff and substitute staff

Student Experience & Behavior Support

  • Create a positive and inclusive environment for all students
  • Monitor student behavior and apply effective behavior management strategies
  • Partner with school leadership as needed to support student success

Budget & Administration

  • Manage site budget, including time cards, supplies, and program expenses
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and maintain payroll within budget guidelines
  • Track inventory and ensure all materials are organized and available

Program Quality & Compliance

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Participate in trainings and ongoing professional development
  • Ensure all program components meet organizational expectations
  • This position may act as a substitute instructor for afterschool programs in a pinch
  • Spot check program delivery with unannounced site visits multiple times per week
  • Quarterly and annual bonuses based on program continuation and quality metrics



Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with youth in an educational, recreational, or after-school setting
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Comfortable leading groups of students and managing classroom behavior

Education

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelors degree (Education or related field preferred)
  • Ability to pass a company instructional assessment

Additional Requirements

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)



Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to actively engage in both indoor and outdoor program settings. Responsibilities may include:

  • Standing, walking, and moving throughout program spaces
  • Lifting and carting materials (up to 50 lbs)
  • Supervising students in active, sometimes high-energy environments
  • Managing occasional interruptions and dynamic situations
