Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Certified Scrub Technologist to join a dynamic Operating Room team on a contract assignment. The Scrub Technologist will be responsible for maintaining a sterile surgical environment and ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly prepared and available for both scheduled and emergency procedures.

The ideal candidate will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support safe and efficient surgical operations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures.
• Gather and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to surgeon preference cards and procedure requirements.
• Assist surgeons and surgical staff during procedures by anticipating instrument and supply needs.
• Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Support emergency and scheduled surgical cases as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and departmental records.
• Communicate effectively with surgical staff, hospital personnel, vendors, and equipment representatives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification (ORT or equivalent).
• Active state license, if required by state regulations.
• Current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room experience.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Holiday coverage may be required.
