Marine Joiner / Fit Out

The Marine Joiner/Fit-Out Technician is responsible for the installation, assembly, and finishing of interior components aboard commercial, military, and offshore vessels. This position requires experience in carpentry, cabinetry, insulation, wall systems, ceilings, flooring, and the installation of marine furniture and fixtures. The ideal candidate will be able to read blueprints, work with a variety of materials, and ensure all fit-out work meets customer specifications and shipyard quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install marine interior systems including bulkhead panels, overhead panels, flooring, doors, windows, cabinetry, and furniture.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work packages to complete fit-out projects accurately.
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble wood, laminate, composite, and metal materials.
• Install insulation, wall systems, ceilings, trim, and finish components throughout vessel accommodations and workspaces.
• Perform modifications, repairs, and upgrades to existing shipboard interiors.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish of all installed components.
• Collaborate with shipfitters, electricians, welders, and other trades to complete vessel construction and repair projects.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to OSHA regulations and shipyard safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Experience in marine joinery, carpentry, interior outfitting, or related construction trades.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of marine materials, cabinetry, flooring systems, and interior finishing techniques.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various shipyard environments.
• Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to safety.
