Plant Metallurgist

We are seeking a hands-on Plant Metallurgist to support plant performance, process improvement, and operational troubleshooting across an active processing environment.

This role is suited to a technically strong metallurgist or process engineer who enjoys working closely with operations, interpreting plant data, and identifying practical improvements that support safe, efficient, and reliable production.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor metallurgical and process performance across an operating plant environment.
• Analyze production and test data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Support process optimization initiatives focused on recovery, efficiency, cost control, and product quality.
• Work with operations and technical teams to troubleshoot plant issues and support root cause analysis.
• Prepare clear technical reports, recommendations, and performance updates.
• Support quality, safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in plant inspections, field observations, and hands-on improvement activities.
• Contribute to structured continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations.

Ideal Background

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 4+ years of relevant experience in mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, or heavy industrial plant operations.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, plant operations, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
• Practical experience supporting process improvement or troubleshooting in an operating plant.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment with operations teams.
• Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
• Exposure to control systems, project work, or formal improvement methodologies would be advantageous.
