We’re seeking a Project Superintendent for one of our clients in Sebastopol, CA. This is a direct hire role with a pay range between $111,000 – $135,000 annually based on experience. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead all onsite construction activities from project startup through final closeout.
  • Serve as the primary field leader and point of contact for subcontractors, owners, architects, inspectors,
  • and project stakeholders.
  • Lead by example as a hands-on Superintendent, remaining actively engaged in field operations, coaching
  • crews, solving technical challenges, and supporting project teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, deliveries, and self-perform crews.
  • Develop and maintain detailed short-interval (two-week look-ahead) schedules.
  • Maintain organized, efficient, and professional jobsites.
  • Review construction documents, specifications, RFIs, ASIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate project sequencing to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality and schedule.
  • Identify project risks early and proactively implement solutions before they impact cost or schedule.
  • Assist Project Managers with RFIs, change orders, scheduling updates, and field coordination.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, photo documentation, and project records.
  • Monitor labor productivity and equipment utilization.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative job site culture.
  • Mentor Foremen, Assistant Superintendents, apprentices, and field personnel.
  • Develop field leaders by providing coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback.
  • Promote teamwork between field and office staff.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings and daily communication with project teams.
  • Champion the company’s commitment to safety.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and regular job site inspections.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and enforce PPE requirements.
  • Maintain site-specific safety documentation and emergency action plans.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for maintaining safe work practices.
  • Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
  • Proactively identify design conflicts and coordinate solutions with the Project Manager.
  • Minimize rework through planning, inspections, and continuous quality monitoring.
  • Verify completed work before inspections and owner walkthroughs.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Represent the company professionally in every interaction.
  • Maintain positive relationships with neighboring businesses and the surrounding community.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of commercial construction field leadership experience as a Superintendent.
  • Demonstrated success leading commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $2-$5 million or greater (or projects of similar size and complexity).
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades while maintaining schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues before they affect schedule or cost.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Experience with self-performing carpentry.
  • Experience delivering negotiated and design-built commercial projects.
