The Assistant Property Manager serves as the primary operational contact for a sub-portfolio of approximately 500 residential units across Westchester County, NY, and Southern CT. Working closely with the Property Manager, Accounting Manager, and Leasing Manager, this role manages the full resident lifecycle, ensuring smooth operations in billing, collections, maintenance coordination, lease renewals, and resident relations using Yardi Voyager software.

 

Responsibilities

  • Post rent income and process monthly charges, applying adjustments, credits, and late fees
  • Monitor delinquency reports, conduct outreach on past-due balances, and coordinate payment plans and eviction proceedings with Accounting Manager
  • Manage lease renewal process by generating offers, tracking responses, and updating records
  • Support Leasing Manager with application processing and lease package preparation
  • Log and track maintenance work orders; communicate with maintenance staff and vendors; follow up with residents for resolution confirmation
  • Act as first point of contact for resident inquiries and complaints via phone, email, and in-person
  • Enforce community rules and maintain high resident satisfaction standards
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare and distribute notices, assist with move-out processing and turnover documentation
  • Provide operational support to Property Manager, Accounting Manager, and Leasing Manager as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in property management
