Job Description
POSITION TITLE: CFO/Vice President for Finance and Administration
The CFO/Vice-President for Administration and Finance serves as the chief fiscal officer for the University. This position is responsible for all aspects of the finances including the Business Office which consists of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Payroll, and Purchasing. The CFO/Vice President directs a diverse organization that provides financial, business, and administrative support services that are fundamental to both the conduct of the operation of the University and the achievement of its financial objectives. The CFO/Vice President ensures the accurate interpretation and analysis of financial results while providing analyses and justification of budgets, forecasts and long-range plans. The position reports directly to the President.
EDUCATION
v Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required/considered with substantial experience in serving in the CFO or AVP role in higher education.
v Master’s of Business Administration is preferred
v CPA preferred
EXPERIENCE
v A minimum of 10 years of increasingly more senior financial experience
v Preferred experience in the finance and technology functions of higher education
v Extensive knowledge of PowerFaids, G-5, Common Organization Disbursements and other federal and state systems and implementation practices
v Familiarity with Jenzabar EX
v Intimate knowledge of and personal involvement with financial and administrative systems and methodologies for Federal and State Government
v Excellent knowledge of all aspects banking, cash management
v First-hand experience with negotiating and establishing financing arrangements
v Demonstrated experience with managing investor relations
v Familiarity with reporting, filing and compliance requirements of securities commissions and regulatory bodies
v Ability to manage a diverse range of individuals to ensure that the operations of the business office is efficient

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
v Set institutional financial objectives in cooperation with President, policy and practice
v Direct the development implementation, operation, maintenance and control of essential business, information and systems.
v Make well-informed decisions, assign correct priorities and ensure appropriate resources acquisition and application
v Responsible for Jenzabar and other systems, such as voice and data communications, essential to the functioning of the University
v Interact with internal and external constituencies on budgeting, auditing, and other matters
v Analyze budgets and forecasts
v Support and be responsive to both setting priorities and resolving issues consistence with internal requirements
v Ability to assimilate, evaluate and correlate associated risk/benefit trade-offs and their relative impact on affected units of the University
v Accountable for the implementation of new systems and major modifications to existing systems
v Maintain high-level interaction with the President and other administrative staff
v Advise President on financial related issues
v Coordinate implementation and maintenance of application software by developing partnerships with vendors
v Other duties assigned

SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION
v This position reports directly to the President of the University. Annual evaluations will be conducted by the President.
v Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Jarvis Christian University Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual.
