About this job
Job Description
We are hiring licensed urologists (MD/DO) who currently own, co-own, or operate an independent urology practice for a short-term paid consulting engagement focused on urology workflow documentation.
This is not a clinical, patient-care, or staff role. We are looking for independent owner-operators who can help us understand how real urology practices run day to day: the systems used, the handoffs between team members, the operational bottlenecks, and the decisions that come up in common workflows.
Candidates must currently own, co-own, or have executive decision-making authority at an independent urology practice. Applicants without current ownership or equivalent decision-making authority will not be considered for this specific engagement.
What you'll do
You'll participate in remote consulting sessions and help document real-world independent urology workflows, such as:
- Patient intake and scheduling
- Prior authorization (imaging, procedures, specialty medications)
- In-office procedure workflows (cystoscopy, biopsies, urodynamics)
- Pathology specimen tracking and results follow-up
- Charting and procedure coding
- Claims, denials, appeals, and A/R follow-up
- Surgical scheduling and referrals
- Team handoffs between front desk, MAs, billing staff, and physicians
You may be asked to:
- Walk through workflows step by step over Zoom
- Explain what information is needed at each step
- Identify common exceptions, edge cases, bottlenecks, and decision points
- Review process maps, task lists, or SOP-style documentation for accuracy
- Provide written feedback on whether a documented workflow matches how real independent practices operate
Required qualifications
- Urologist (MD/DO) in good standing in at least one U.S. state
- Current owner, co-owner, managing partner, or executive decision-maker at an independent urology practice
- Hands-on experience running or overseeing day-to-day practice operations
- Comfortable explaining operational processes clearly and step by step
- Able to participate in remote calls from a private workspace
- U.S.-based
Engagement details
Type: Short-term 1099 consulting contract
Rate: $70–175/hr
Time commitment: 2–5 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible, during U.S. business hours
Location: Fully remote
Start: Immediate
Important note
This opportunity is specifically for independent urology owners, co-owners, and owner-operators. If you are an employed or staff physician without current independent practice ownership or direct decision-making authority, this role is likely not the right fit.
