Crest Event Rentals is one of the Central Coast’s most established event rental companies — serving wine country weddings, Hearst Castle, Cal Poly, and hundreds of wineries and venues since 1980. We’re investing aggressively in growth and looking for a driven General Manager to help lead that charge.

About the role

You’ll run the day-to-day operation of a full-service event rental business while actively growing revenue through new accounts, venue relationships, and outbound sales. This is a player-coach role — you lead the team, own the numbers, and are comfortable picking up the phone to close a winery account just as readily as you are solving a logistics problem at 7am on a Saturday.

The right person is energized by building something. We have a 49-year brand, a great inventory, and a loyal customer base — and we have significant untapped upside in marketing, digital presence, and sales outreach that a new owner is actively investing in.

What you’ll own

  • Full P&L responsibility for the business revenue, labor, expenses, and margins
  • Lead, schedule, and develop a team of 5–8 employees (drivers, customer service, warehouse staff)
  • Own the sales pipeline — actively prospect wineries, event planners, venues, hotels, and corporate clients
  • Manage incoming quote requests, convert inquiries into bookings, and grow average order value
  • Oversee inventory management, equipment condition, warehouse organization, and delivery logistics
  • Build and maintain preferred vendor relationships with key accounts across SLO County
  • Coordinate with the owner on capital investment priorities, software upgrades, and growth strategy
  • Ensure high standards of customer service on every order, from quote through pickup

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years managing a team in an operations-heavy environment (event rentals, hospitality, logistics, or similar)
  • Proven track record in sales or business development — you know how to open doors and close accounts
  • Strong working knowledge of the Central Coast event and wedding market is a major plus
  • Comfortable with CRM tools, rental management software, or willing to learn quickly
  • Excellent communicator with vendors, clients, and staff — you represent the brand every day
  • Physically able to work in a warehouse environment and assist with event logistics as needed
  • Valid California driver’s license with clean record
