Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our busy Family Practice team. The ideal candidate will be professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients while supporting providers in delivering high-quality healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs
- Room patients and assist providers with patient care needs
- Perform clinical duties including injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and other procedures as assigned
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Assist physicians and providers during exams and procedures
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions
- Coordinate referrals, lab orders, and diagnostic testing
- Complete medication reconciliation and review patient information
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and healthcare team members
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, and office policies
- Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient clinical environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1+ year of recent Medical Assistant experience (Family Practice or Primary Care preferred)
- Medical Assistant diploma, transcripts or state certification
- BLS through the American Heart Association or willing to obtain.
- Experience working with EMR systemsStrong knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office setting
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
