Duckstein Restoration, since 1971, is a Pittsburgh based construction company specializing in residential and commercial insurance restoration. Disaster restoration has become an increasingly needed service throughout our area as well as the entire country. We are expanding our team and looking for an experienced project manager. This is a great opportunity for someone with leadership, management, and hands-on experience in the industry.

The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple aspects of an insurance restoration claim from initial inspection for reconstruction services to final punch list.

This person will be responsible for reconstruction estimates and overseeing the work of reconstruction crews.

This position requires the management and dealing with conflict of the competing needs of many stakeholders including customers, insurance carriers, and direct reports The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, customer centric, empathetic, and budget conscious. They will be comfortable directly delivering positive and negative feedback to all stakeholders, and specifically coaching and providing performance improvement plans to direct reports.

This position is fast paced, challenging and very demanding at times, but when executed properly, the customers’ gratitude for restoring their home after a disaster is very rewarding.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect loss site to determine scope of work for repairs.
  • Estimating & uploading repairs estimates to TPA programs.
  • Experience in Xactimate & Cotality Estimate is required.
  • Professionally responding to TPA & adjuster requests.
  • Obtain bids/pricing from subcontractors & suppliers as needed.
  • Frequent & effective communication with customers
  • Oversee production of jobs from start to finish
  • Daily updates of job notes in CRM
  • Must be able to outline performance requirements/scope of work for subcontractors, handle purchase orders, change orders, and contracts.
  • Scheduling of in-house crews and subcontractors
  • Manage, monitor, and report on schedule, budget, quality, and customer relations.
  • Visit job sites to ensure high quality of work being performed; effectively bring quality issues to crew’s attention for them to correct.
  • Conflict resolution; employees and customers.
  • Collections
  • Job costing and profitability
  • Hiring of additional staff
  • Office Administration - updating job notes, department meetings, filing paperwork, etc.
  • Be a team leader and encourage teammates & employees to perform at their best
  • Employee write-ups – positive and negative

Must haves:

  • Has a valid driver’s license and can pass a background check
  • Knowledge of insurance restoration (mitigation & reconstruction)
  • Knowledge of construction materials
