Cashiers

·         The Cashier is a key role in the receiving of scrap metal. The primary function is scaling in and out trucks and customer vehicles for inbound and outbound shipments. The role of the Cashier is the beginning and end yard component of processing scrap metal by having regular communication with internal and third-party customers, third party transportation, and other key departments such as the commercial and production teams.

 Job Responsibilities:

·         Manage the flow of inbound and outbound shipments; accurately scale in and out trucks. Check weights on each shipment. Assist drivers with axel weights.

·         Welcoming and greeting customers. Answering and routing incoming phone calls. Providing payment for customers and ensuring details on the payment are correct.

·         Record logs and prepare paperwork for all shipments including inbound, outbound, and yard transfers.

·         Communicate with the processing yard on shipments within the facility; communicate specific needs for certain loads.

·         Various other tasks will be required and assigned as needed for the continuous flow of operations inside and outside the office.

·         Cashier/Customer Service Preferred Scale Operation Experience Preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish

·         Organized and detail-oriented Basic computer skills required

·         Must be able to communicate, read, comprehend and interpret written and oral communications in English.

·         Must demonstrate basic math skills with the ability to perform basic math computations.

·         Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.

·         Must have good organizational skills.

·         Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

·         Must be self-motivated with the ability to complete projects with minimum direct supervision.

·         Must be able to accept direction/supervision and work cooperatively with other people.

·         Must be able to interpret directions and/or instructions.

·         Must be committed to total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.

·         Ability to learn quickly and stay motivated. Work at a continuous productive pace safely
