Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: 8-hour shifts with flexibility (Between 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST); must be available to work 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST one day per week
Position Type: Initial W2 Assignment; high potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position based on business needs
Job Overview
Join a global medical technology and healthcare products manufacturer as a Medical Documentation Coordinator supporting patients, physician offices, and internal teams throughout the medical documentation process. In this role, you will obtain and track documentation needed to support insurance coverage for medical supplies, communicate with healthcare providers, and help ensure required records are collected and submitted for review.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact physician offices by phone, fax, and email to obtain medical documentation
- Maintain knowledge of medical supply products and insurance documentation guidelines
- Identify and resolve customer service-related issues while providing professional support
- Partner with Sales Operations to support customer service initiatives and business objectives
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and call volume goals
- Adhere to compliance requirements, including Medicare guidelines, HIPAA regulations, after-call work standards, and minimum call activity expectations
- Track daily production metrics and submit activity logs to leadership
- Support special projects, progress note processing, and service ticket workflows as business needs require
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office, healthcare customer service, medical records, insurance verification, referral coordination, patient services, or call center environment
- Experience working with medical documentation, physician offices, healthcare providers, or insurance carriers preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare insurance processes preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems and software quickly
