Summary: We are seeking a Field Project Engineer with a strong background in mechanical installation of combined cycle power plants or large industrial facilities. This roll will support field execution, ensuring that construction, installation, and commissioning activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Support field construction activities, with a focus on mechanical installation and execution
• Coordinate daily work activities between home base engineering, on-site engineering, and construction teams
• Interface with mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure proper system integration
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation
• Ensure field installations comply with projects standards, codes, and safety requirements
• Provide technical support to construction teams and resolve field issues
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and work front coordination
• Identify and help resolve technical issues, constructability concerns, and field conflicts
• Interface with QA/QC and support inspection and documentation efforts
• Track field changes, RFIs, and as-built documentation
• Monitor progress and report status to project leadership
• Promote and enforce site safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 3+ years of experience in field engineering, industrial construction, or power generation
• Experience in power generation, energy, or industrial projects
• Experience in combined cycle power plants is highly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret:
• P&ID’s
• Isometric Drawings
• General Arrangement Drawings
• Working knowledge of:
• Mechanical systems (e.g., piping, rotating equipment, HVAC, or similar)
• Basic civil/structural interfaces (foundations, supports, steel)
• Electrical systems (cable routing, equipment interfaces)
• Effective communication and coordination skills
