Job Description
Welder – Full‐Time Position (Experienced with Sheet Metal)
M-F, 6am-2:45pm
$18-$23ph depending on experience
Proman is seeking skilled and reliable Welders with strong experience in sheet metal, multi‐metal welding, and fabrication. This role is ideal for welders who can work independently, read blueprints, and produce high‐quality welds across a variety of materials and thicknesses.
Position Overview
The Welder will be responsible for performing high‐quality welds on stainless steel (16, 18, 20 gauge), galvanized steel, black iron, and aluminum using MIG and TIG processes. Candidates must be able to fabricate, fit, and assemble components according to specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel, galvanized, black iron, and aluminum
- Work with sheet metal including 16, 18, and 20 gauge
- Fabricate and assemble metal components from blueprints and drawings
- Operate grinders, saws, and fabrication tools
- Fit, tack, and weld components to meet quality standards
- Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance
- Follow all safety procedures including PPE and ventilation requirements
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete projects on time
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding
- Experience welding stainless steel 16/18/20 gauge
- Ability to weld galvanized, black iron, and aluminum, stainless steel
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Experience with fabrication, layout, and fitting
- Ability to pass a Welding test
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass a physical
- Ability to pass drug screen
Tools
Candidates should have their own basic tools, including:
- Hand tools for welding (grinders, clamps, chipping hammer, etc.)
- Sheet metal tools (snips, seamers, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication
- Experience with aluminum TIG/MIG welding
Work Environment
- Fast‐paced fabrication and welding environment
- Projects may include custom fabrication, repair work, and production welding
- Overtime available as needed
- Opportunity to be hired on after 90 days
