Diesel Mechanic

(Scott, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of diesel-powered equipment, including fleet trucks, heavy equipment, construction machinery, and related systems. This full-time position offers approximately 50 hours per week, with compensation ranging from $30-$35 per hour based on experience. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic abilities, and experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment.

Essential Duties:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul diesel engines and related mechanical systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet trucks, trailers, dozers, tractors, and heavy equipment.

• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other equipment components.

• Inspect equipment to identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs.

• Utilize diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical documentation to identify equipment failures.

• Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders.

• Ensure equipment meets safety standards and operational requirements.

• Perform field repairs and maintenance support as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements/Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.

• Experience maintaining and repairing diesel engines, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and construction machinery.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical schematics.

• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.

• Experience with equipment such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit, or John Deere preferred.

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.

• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work in both indoor shop environments and outdoor job settings.

• Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment required for repairs and maintenance.
