Location: Lexington, MA
Job Type: Direct Hire / Permanent
Salary: $112,600 - $151,900 annually
Schedule: Full-Time, 100% Onsite
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance and willing to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

Our client is a premier research and development organization focused on creating advanced technology solutions for national security, aerospace, defense, and cutting-edge engineering applications. Their multidisciplinary engineering teams develop innovative prototypes and systems deployed across ground, air, maritime, and space-based platforms.
We are seeking a Cable Interconnect Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical interconnect systems, cable assemblies, and wiring harnesses for advanced prototype programs. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside highly skilled engineers on complex, mission-critical projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of system-level electrical interconnects, cable assemblies, and wiring harnesses
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop power distribution and interconnection architectures
- Create design concepts, block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable/harness fabrication drawings
- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD tools to develop and maintain engineering documentation
- Perform electrical design calculations and select appropriate components, connectors, and hardware
- Support procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing activities
- Track project milestones and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards and program requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering OR
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in another engineering discipline with 5+ years of electrical interconnection design experience
- Experience designing cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and electrical interconnect systems
- Ability to develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and fabrication drawings
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and component selection
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or military programs
- Knowledge of connector selection, wire sizing, derating, voltage drop analysis, and electro-mechanical packaging
- Familiarity with NASA, Military, ASME, and IEEE standards
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or Zuken E3
- Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Experience supporting prototype development and system integration efforts
Security Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. An interim clearance may be accepted upon start. Selected candidates must also be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance in the future.
