Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Shop TIG Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of TIG welding and metal fabrication experience and be capable of producing high-quality weldments while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, fit, assemble, and fabricate metal components to specifications.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, and other shop tools.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain welding equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet production schedules.
- Assist with shop organization, material handling, and general housekeeping.
- Identify and troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of TIG welding and fabrication experience required.
- Strong experience welding stainless steel; aluminum experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
- Proficient with measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and squares.
- Experience with metal cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly.
- Ability to perform high-quality cosmetic and structural welds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) are a plus.
- Experience in modular construction, manufacturing, or industrial fabrication environments.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
