CDL Driver

Thomasville, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Driver to safely deliver industrial gas products, welding supplies, and related equipment while ensuring compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.

Essential Duties

• Operate delivery vehicles in accordance with all applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

• Load, transport, and unload compressed gas cylinders and industrial supplies safely and efficiently

• Utilize lift trucks/tow motors to move palletized inventory to designated staging areas

• Deliver products to customer locations and complete accurate documentation of deliveries and cylinder exchanges

• Track inventory and cylinder movement using appropriate systems and handheld devices

• Collect payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records

• Maintain daily delivery logs and vehicle operation reports

• Communicate effectively with customers, including addressing service inquiries and promoting products/services

• Ensure proper handling and return of empty cylinders and rejected merchandise

• Obtain customer signatures for deliveries and pickups

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles

• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance

Requirements / Skills

• High school diploma or GED required

• Minimum of 1 year of delivery driving or related experience preferred

• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) – minimum Class C with Hazardous Materials endorsement

• Valid DOT Medical Card and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices

• Ability to identify compressed gas cylinders by color code and size

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and handheld tracking devices

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to read, write, and interpret basic instructions and documents

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work conditions

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, talk, and hear

• Frequent standing and occasional climbing or balancing

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift over 100 pounds

• Ability to safely handle and maneuver heavy compressed gas cylinders

• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
