We are looking for an Associate Attorney to join a legal team in San Diego, California. This opportunity is well suited for a motivated attorney with at least 2 years of experience who is eager to build a strong litigation practice and handle matters with a high degree of independence. The role offers exposure to probate, trust, conservatorship, and related disputes while working closely with a partner and contributing to thoughtful, client-focused legal strategies.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee a docket of probate, trust, conservatorship, and related contested matters while coordinating closely with a supervising partner.

• Prepare a range of legal documents, including motions, petitions, briefs, pleadings, and precise correspondence tailored to each matter.

• Manage written discovery by drafting requests, preparing responses, and organizing supporting information for case development.

• Research legal issues and translate findings into clear memoranda and practical recommendations for ongoing cases.

• Represent clients at hearings, status conferences, and other court appearances with confidence and professionalism.

• Support dispute resolution efforts by helping prepare for mediations, settlement discussions, depositions, and trial proceedings.

• Partner with attorneys and legal support staff to shape case strategy, track deadlines, and move files efficiently toward resolution.

• Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing timely updates and responsive service throughout each stage of the matter.

• Active license to practice law and ability to work as an attorney in the applicable jurisdiction.

• At least 2 years of legal experience, including experience focused on litigation matters.

• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, pleadings, discovery materials, and other court-related documents.

• Experience handling litigation tasks such as discovery, court appearances, depositions, and case preparation.

• Background in probate litigation, conservatorships, trust and estate matters, or another related practice area.

• Ability to take ownership of assigned cases, exercise sound judgment, and work with limited day-to-day direction.

• Flexibility to support a variety of legal matters and adapt to changing case needs and priorities.
