Job Description
Production Associate -- $18

Job Description

This role involves working independently in a fast-paced production facility to support the manufacturing and packaging of corrugated cardboard products. You will operate and support production equipment, handle and organize cardboard materials, and help ensure that finished products meet quality and quantity expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Feed machines with cardboard in a consistent and efficient manner to maintain production flow.
  • Remove cardboard from the production line safely and promptly as it comes off the machines.
  • Stack cardboard neatly and securely to maintain order and prevent damage.
  • Count cardboard into bundles of 25 pieces and verify accuracy before binding.
  • Bind cardboard bundles together to prepare them for packaging, storage, or shipment.
  • Perform general production tasks, including assembly, packing, picking, and stacking materials as needed.
  • Support machine operation by monitoring the flow of materials and responding quickly to issues or jams.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe work area.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily output and quality goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, handling materials and equipment with care.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse or production environment, or 1+ year of experience in a mailroom.
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds independently.
  • Experience with general production tasks such as machine operation support, assembly, packaging, stacking materials, and general labor.
  • Reliability and consistency in following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail when counting, bundling, and stacking materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a corrugated facility.
  • 1+ year of machine operating experience.
  • Experience in production assembly, packaging, corrugated materials, general labor, assembly, packing, or picking.
  • Comfort working around loud machinery and in a physically demanding environment.

Why Work Here?

You will join a large, established manufacturer that maintains a close-knit, local feel and values work-life balance. The company offers flexibility for personal needs, such as attending children’s events or handling family responsibilities, and regularly organizes holiday activities and small gestures of appreciation, like seasonal gifts and treats. Your contributions have a visible impact because the team works closely together, and you will be part of a growing operation that continues to invest in new equipment and capacity.

Work Environment

The facility is a heated production environment without active cooling; temperatures are generally comfortable but can become warm in the summer and extremely hot during 100+ degree weather. With multiple machines running, the workspace is loud and requires hearing protection. The area is clean and not dirty, as employees primarily handle cardboard, so clothing is unlikely to be stained or damaged by materials. The dress code includes steel or composite toe footwear, jeans or pants, a T-shirt, and layers as needed for comfort. Required PPE includes steel or composite toe shoes, safety glasses (provided), and hearing protection (provided). Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with two 20-minute breaks at approximately 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. There is no formal lunch period. Currently, Saturday work from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. is mandatory. The production team is around 20 employees and is continuing to grow as new equipment is installed.
