Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role offers an opportunity to serve as a Long Term Care Pharmacist supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care providers. The position is a contract assignment based in Kittanning, PA, with a one-month initial timeline and potential for extension, providing 40 hours per week within the following pharmacy hours:
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for long-term care and hospice patients.
- Check packaged medications, including blister-packed items, as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations.
- Respond professionally to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed.
- Accurately count controlled substances and maintain thorough documentation in the perpetual inventory.
- Monitor and restock emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy required.
- Active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania, with good standing.
- Minimum of one year pharmacist experience, preferably in Long Term Care settings.
- Physical abilities including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems is highly advantageous.
