Box Truck Driver

Pay Range: $18-23 per hour (based on licensure)
Shift: 1st Shift 6 AM – 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed Mon-Friday
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely drive company vehicles to transport goods within a specified area.

• Ensure secure transportation of materials, verify loads, and obtain necessary documentation.

• Determine optimal routes for timely deliveries.

• Safely handle and transport inventory within the warehouse and while loading and unloading trucks.

• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts.

• Represent the company positively and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.

• Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness through regular inspections.

• Accurately maintain a detailed log of destinations and mileage driven.

• Assist with material handling tasks as needed.

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to communicate in a polite and professional manner with customers and vendors.

• Efficient time management skills and self-directed work ethic.

• Capable of reading, understanding, and accurately following shipping and receiving documentation.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Requirements:

• Ability to read/write/speak in English.

• Valid Driver’s License.
  

• Ability to pass DOT physical.

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating a motor vehicle.

• Frequent use of hands, arms, and legs to operate vehicle controls.

• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull items up to 50 pounds, as needed.

• Physical ability necessary to move materials and operate warehouse equipment.

• Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally.

• Must be able to obtain Hi-lo certification which requires a valid driver’s license.

• Good vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices to ensure safe driving and communication.

• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and reach as required for loading and unloading cargo.

• Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform routing vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.

• Work is primarily performed in a vehicle and may include exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, ice, snow, rain).

• May involve driving in urban, suburban, and rural areas, including high-traffic zones.

• Occasional exposure to noise, vibration, and exhaust fumes.

• CDL License preferred
