Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our custom manufacturing team in Franklin Park. You will spend 100% of your time hands-on on the shop floor. You will perform critical mechanical, electrical, and visual inspections on large-scale metal projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection: Conduct mechanical, electrical, visual, and final quality checks on custom metal fabrications.
  • Tools: Use precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and pressure gauges.
  • Blueprints: Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Data Tracking: Document units of measure, temperatures, weights (pounds), and metric system variables.
  • Collaboration: Partner with welders, fabricators, and production teams to fix quality non-conformities fast.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of industrial Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) inspection experience.
  • Industry: Past work in a metal fabrication shop, welding environment, or custom job shop.
  • Skills: Proficient with precision hand tools and blueprint reading.
  • Physical: Ability to work full-time on a physical shop floor environment (heavy metals, overhead cranes).

Work Environment

Our Franklin Park facility is a heavy industrial custom job shop featuring overhead cranes, welding stations, and paint booths. The shop floor is kept as clean and organized as possible, but it is a genuine manufacturing environment that can get hot during summer months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
