Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity offers a challenging role for a Long Term Care Pharmacist providing expert pharmaceutical care to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients. The contract includes a one-month ongoing assignment with potential for extension, offering steady work and the chance to make a significant impact in a specialized pharmacy setting.
Work Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and verifying medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various care facilities
- Ensuring accuracy in checking blister-packed medications, sterile and non-sterile preparations
- Responding to clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians
- Counting and documenting controlled substances in the perpetual inventory
- Checking emergency medication boxes to guarantee proper stock and accessibility
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Current registered pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience, with Long Term Care experience preferred
- Physical capability to sit and stand for extended periods, possess fine motor skills and visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC is essential for efficient workflow management.
