Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to support long-term care facilities through a contract position based in Butler, PA. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy and quality in medication dispensing and providing expert clinical guidance to healthcare professionals across skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, and hospice care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and review medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
  • Perform accuracy checks on blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications.
  • Respond to phone inquiries from nursing staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions.
  • Maintain control substance inventories by accurately counting and documenting in the perpetual inventory system.
  • Conduct regular inspections of emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
  • Licensed registered pharmacist in Pennsylvania with a current good standing.
  • Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience; long-term care experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent visual acuity, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Operating Systems and Schedule:

  • Experienced with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy systems.
  • Work schedule includes 40 hours per week with pharmacy hours Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday 8 AM to 3 PM.

This assignment is initially for one month with the possibility of extension. It offers the chance to contribute expertise in a critical healthcare setting that supports vulnerable populations.
