The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting day-to-day warehouse operations by accurately receiving, verifying, storing, and shipping materials in an industrial piping supply environment. This full-time, permanent position focuses on safe and efficient handling of inventory using warehouse equipment and business systems, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Verify all incoming and outgoing transactions to ensure accuracy of orders, quantities, and documentation.
- Receive materials from vendors into the business system and maintain all related records in an organized and timely manner.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles, ensuring safe handling and placement of materials.
- Support inventory management activities, including performing cycle counts and helping maintain accurate stock levels.
- Maintain and order department office supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Process invoices related to warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving functions.
- Use RF scanners to scan incoming items and update inventory records in the system.
- Perform pallet wrapping and prepare materials for storage or shipment according to warehouse standards.
- Retrieve inventory efficiently and accurately to fulfill customer orders and internal requests.
- Apply strong attention to detail to confirm correct items and quantities are picked, packed, and shipped to clients.
- Operate typical warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or electric pallet jacks in a safe and compliant manner.
- Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders to support smooth warehouse operations and customer service.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Warehouse experience required, with a solid understanding of day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Customer service experience is beneficial for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of typical warehouse equipment, machines, and tools.
- Forklift experience, with the ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or electric pallet jacks.
- Experience with RF scanners for tracking and recording incoming items and inventory movements.
- Material resource planning and/or production control experience using Systems Applications and Processes (SAP).
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate verification of orders, quantities, and inventory records.
- Experience in an industrial products environment, such as piping, valves, or related materials, is a plus.
- Familiarity with pallet wrapping techniques and safe material handling practices.
- Ability to perform cycle counts and support inventory management processes.
- Comfort working with business systems and basic office tasks, including ordering supplies and processing invoices.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Work Environment

Daily tasks include handling piping and related industrial products, wrapping pallets, and moving materials throughout the facility. The setting is focused on safety, efficiency, and teamwork, with a structured workflow that supports consistent full-time hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
