**Exciting Opportunity: Pathologists’ Assistant** \n\n**Job Description:** \n- Join our dynamic team as a Pathologists’ Assistant! \n- Assist pathologists with surgical specimens and related duties. \n- Collaborate in selection, preparation, and dissection of surgical tissue sections for microscopic examination, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy. \n- Contribute to the photography and gross description of surgical specimens. \n- Ensure accuracy of surgical specimen patient information and gross descriptions. \n- Assist in preparing tissue sections for intraoperative consultations (frozen sections), including embedding, cutting, and staining tissue slides. \n- Procure fresh tissue samples for biorepository tissue banking and research studies. \n- Utilize the Faxitron to obtain x-ray images and manage them in the PACS system. \n- Maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness for gross anatomic dissection. \n- Help prepare materials for teaching exercises within the department. \n- Perform necessary computer functions for timely reporting of results. \n- Support post-mortem examinations under the direction of a pathologist, including evisceration, dissection, and data recording. \n- Lift a minimum of 30 lbs and stand for at least 5 hours a day. \n- Meet yearly competency assessments and adhere to organizational standards. \n- Complete additional duties and projects as assigned. \n- Embrace HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. \n\n**Required Skills & Experience:** \n- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field. \n\n**Required Education:** \n- Bachelor’s degree from an NAACLS accredited institution as a Pathologists’ Assistant, with didactic lectures and clinical training in anatomic pathology. \n- Bachelor’s degree must be in Health Sciences or a related biological discipline. \n\n**Required Certifications & Licensure:** \n- ASCP certification for on-the-job trained PA in a hospital laboratory with competencies in handling simple to complex specimens. \n\n**Languages:** \n- English (Read, Write, Speak) \n\n**Schedule Notes:** \n- Preferred hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, 5X8s. \n- Must be open to working evening hours as needed. \n- No weekends, no holidays, no on-call duties. \n\n**Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** \nAt CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
