Job Summary: The Surgical Technician functions as an integral part of the perioperative team, working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to deliver safe and effective care to patients during the intraoperative period. Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile environment, demonstrating technical and psychomotor skills, providing age-specific care to obstetrical patients, organizing supplies and equipment, ensuring safety, participating in room turnover, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and performing sterilization and disinfection tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of surgical tech experience
• Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures
• Problem-solving skills related to surgical procedures
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology
• Understanding of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers for surgical care
• Knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork
• Proficiency in sterile technique during surgical procedures

Required Education:

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• IDPH Fingerprinting
