American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for an Ortho/Sports Med Radiology unit, requiring ARRT certification, an IEMA Radiography License, and Epic EMR experience.
Details- Ortho/Sports Med Radiology unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, either 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, 40 hours per week
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
- 13-week contract
- Associate's Degree in Radiology or Science, or completion of a certificate program in Radiology Technology
- ARRT (R) certification required
- IEMA Radiography License required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant radiology experience
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Performs diagnostic general radiographic procedures using various imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury
- Acquires and processes patient exams in accordance with accrediting body and manufacturer guidelines and department protocols
- Reviews patient labs, history, and orders for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity; obtains additional information from patients, ordering providers, or radiologists as needed
- Administers IV contrast via existing IV line or venipuncture, as well as oral/rectal contrast when appropriate; screens for pregnancy and administers pregnancy testing if applicable
- Recognizes and responds to adverse or allergic reactions to contrast materials
- Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary clinical history for radiologist interpretation; utilizes web servers and email systems for after-hours preliminary readings
- Maintains imaging equipment, supply inventories, and orderliness of the work area; reports malfunctions and service needs promptly
- May assist with instruction of students and new staff, and may perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence
- May be required to perform duties in other modalities within the department for which licensure is held
- Candidate interviews are conducted by facility leadership
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
