Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN)
Rate: $32/hour
Shift: Part-Time, Full-Time
Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evenings, or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM overnight
Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is looking to add a Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN) to its nursing team. In this role, you'll work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate nursing care and support to residents while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a skilled nursing environment. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including medication administration and treatments
- Assist with developing, implementing, and updating resident care plans
- Monitor resident conditions and promptly report changes to the supervising nurse
- Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding support as needed
- Accurately document resident care, treatments, and observations
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and resident-centered environment
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support quality resident care
- Follow facility policies, healthcare regulations, infection control practices, and safety procedures
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing education opportunities
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Graduate Practical Nurse eligible for licensure in New York State
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Compassionate, resident-focused approach to care
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, physicians, and team members
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to perform frequent physical activity and assist with resident care needs
