Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Correctional HealthcarePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a dedicated correctional healthcare team in Wisconsin. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide quality nursing care to an underserved patient population while working in a structured, collaborative, and clinically focused environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients in accordance with established nursing standards, facility policies, and provider orders.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately.
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in health status.
Conduct intake screenings, health assessments, and ongoing patient evaluations.
Assist with chronic disease management, preventative care, and routine healthcare services.
Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies and urgent healthcare needs.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within electronic medical record systems.
Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and security protocols at all times.
Provide patient education, support, and health promotion guidance to encourage wellness and treatment compliance.
Current, active, and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Minimum of one (1) year of correctional nursing experience.
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to undergo, pass and maintain a background check.
Experience working with diverse, underserved, or vulnerable populations.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
Previous experience in behavioral health, public health, emergency care, or chronic disease management.
