Job Description
About the Role

Picture your week split between two worlds: in the warehouse, you prepare and maintain specialized welding, gouging, and blasting equipment so every project launches flawlessly. In the field, you join project teams at industrial sites to set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and keep everything running within tight quality and safety parameters. Approximately 70% of your time is in our local shop/warehouse; about 30% involves travel to job sites.

Compensation

$20–$27 per hour base pay. When assigned to field rotations, you’ll work typical 7/12 schedules and can earn substantially more with straight time, overtime, and double-time on Sundays and Holidays.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
  • Start in the warehouse reviewing equipment checklists, repairing or testing units, and confirming all materials and tooling are ready for upcoming work.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and help manage site inventory and consumables.
  • Stage, install, and align machinery for weld overlay operations with a safety-first layout and clean, organized work areas.
  • Calibrate and verify performance of overlay machines and support gear to ensure safe operation and quality outcomes.
  • Partner with welding and NDE personnel to demonstrate proper setup and positioning so project standards are met.
  • Support craft teams on various tasks and assist with fabrication R&D and general warehouse duties when not traveling.
  • Account for, store, and tag equipment following original equipment checklists; report any defects or missing items immediately.
  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and regulations while meeting productivity goals and project timelines.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in weld overlay or industrial construction (preferred).
  • Comfort operating common welding-industry tools and equipment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Excel or similar tools.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and adherence to company policies and employment screening requirements.
Physical Realities

You’ll work in and around heavy construction and maintenance environments under varied weather and environmental conditions. Expect prolonged standing and walking, ladder and scaffold climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, carrying, and handling equipment up to 100 lbs. Work may occur in confined, noisy spaces with elevated heat and humidity.

Where You’ll Work & Tools You’ll Use

Settings range from warehouse and shop floors to diverse industrial field sites. You may use company vehicles, laptops, cell phones, radios, potential heavy equipment, and a wide range of industry tools and support equipment.

Travel & Schedule
  • About 30% travel, domestic and international (including the USA, Canada, and other locations) as projects require.
  • Current U.S. Passport and valid driver’s license are highly recommended.
  • Field assignments often run 7 days per week, 12 hours per day, with ST/OT/DT rules (double-time Sundays and Holidays).
  • Travel is a firm requirement when projects call.
Bonus Skills

With applicable training and certifications, you may perform NDE activities (VT, PT, and UT thickness) for weld samples and project work.
