Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT) – Blended Acute Care & Rehabilitation (Contract)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly adaptable Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time contract assignment within a comprehensive healthcare facility. In this role, you will perform comprehensive evaluations and deliver individualized, one-on-one therapeutic interventions to help patients reduce pain, restore function, and regain independence. Utilizing a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, you will blend targeted exercise, strength training, and manual therapies to successfully transition patients back to their normal daily activities and work environments.
Position & Setting Details:
- Job Type: Full-Time, Contract.
- Clinical Setting: A dynamic, blended environment spanning Inpatient, Outpatient, and Long-Term Care (LTC) services.
- Primary Focus: While you will cross-train and support multiple departments, your primary daily clinical focus will be dedicated to Inpatient acute/rehabilitative care.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience & Clinical Competencies:
- PT Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of active, professional experience as a licensed Physical Therapist [Required].
- Clinical Adaptability: Proven ability to transition smoothly between acute inpatient care, outpatient pacing, and long-term residential rehabilitation settings.
- Core Competencies: Expertise in executing thorough initial evaluations, developing custom physical plans of care from physician prescriptions, and demonstrating mastery in manual therapy techniques.
Licensure, Certifications & Compliance:
- State Licensure: Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of Michigan [Required]. Credentials must be fully active and verified at the time of application.
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Background Check: Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screening, including background checks and drug testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Evaluation: Conduct thorough initial clinical assessments of patients who are recovering from complex surgeries, physical trauma, serious illness, or navigating chronic conditions.
- One-on-One Care Delivery: Design and execute evidence-based, individualized treatment plans combining specialized exercise, biomechanical strength training, and localized modalities.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work in close synchronization with attending physicians, nursing staff, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to ensure holistic patient care.
- Patient & Family Advocacy: Guide, educate, and encourage patients and their support networks through safe movement techniques and home-exercise regimens.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous, compliant, and daily electronic documentation of patient progress, functional goals, and discharge criteria in accordance with regulatory benchmarks.
