Position Overview
  • UHS is seeking a Full Time Epic Beacon Certified Analyst II. The ideal candidate will also hold Epic Ambulatory certification as this position will require you to work in both areas.
  • Responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing and recommending changes in support of assigned applications/systems including ongoing production maintenance and trouble-shooting. Supports the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of assigned applications/systems. Leads and/or coordinates conversions, application/system testing and documentation of system procedures. Participates and provides input in training design and development and assists in training execution in relation to assigned projects. Provides go-live support and serves as primary point of contact for ongoing maintenance/support and trouble-shooting.

Minimum Required:
  • Two to three (2-3) years of healthcare operations (clinical, patient care, administrative or revenue cycle), information technology or health information technology experience
    • OR
  • Demonstrated competency in Applications Analyst I role
  • For Epic roles: Current Epic certifications Epic Beacon and Epic Ambulatory
    • OR
  • Willing to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned.

Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (information technology or clinical/healthcare fields)
  • Current Epic certification(s)


Job Responsibilities:
  • Epic Beacon certification required to be considered, with demonstrated proficiency in additional Epic modules or applications.
  • Ability to independently prepare and deliver workflow and functional demonstrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to perform high?quality system build work with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned applications/modules within projects and initiatives.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for Analyst I staff, offering guidance on decision?making and work prioritization.
  • Thorough understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and operational workflows, including upstream/downstream impacts of build decisions.
  • Ability to support ticket resolution across multiple Epic modules and effectively collaborate with end users, the help desk, and IS teams.
  • Skilled in leading end?user learning sessions, facilitating meetings, and framing decisions using appropriate analysis and presentation methodologies.
  • Growing knowledge of IS functional areas such as networking, security, telecom, servers, infrastructure, and interfaces, with awareness of key contacts for collaboration.
  • Robust understanding of end?to?end business unit workflows (e.g., Clinical, RCO), with the ability to align build decisions with healthcare policy and organizational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that span multiple teams, developing new solutions with minimal assistance.
  • Effective at identifying and engaging key stakeholders, presenting options with pros/cons, and providing clear recommendations.
  • Proven experience leading activities such as huddles, lean initiatives, peer training, and end?user support workflows.
  • Recognized as a go?to resource for reviewing vendor updates, upgrades, change management impacts, and project?related build.
  • Actively participates in departmental learning, seeks and applies feedback, and self?assesses skill gaps for continuous professional development.
  • Contributes to improving work methods, team performance, and organizational outcomes through innovative thinking and collaboration.
  • Demonstrates a strong team?first mindset, proactively assisting colleagues, escalating issues appropriately, and putting IS and organizational goals above self?interest.
