Job Description
We are seeking two experienced Construction Safety Technicians (EHS) to support construction and maintenance projects in the Houston 77058 area. This role is responsible for conducting after-hours safety inspections, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures, and helping maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
Most inspections will be performed during evening and overnight hours, typically between 4:00 PM and 2:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field safety inspections of construction and maintenance projects.
- Inspect work environments, equipment, and work practices for compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Identify hazards and enforce workplace safety procedures.
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports with accurate documentation and observations.
- Immediately report injuries, incidents, and serious safety concerns.
- Conduct and document daily safety meetings.
- Provide safety oversight for special projects as assigned.
- Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment for employees and contractors.
- Perform additional Environmental, Health, and Safety duties as required.
- Experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, or a related field.
- Experience conducting field safety inspections on construction, roofing, industrial, or maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and work comfortably at heights, including rooftops.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, occasional weekends, and variable schedules based on project demands.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must provide a Certified Birth Certificate (with State Seal), U.S. Passport, or Citizenship Documentation on the first day of employment.
- Valid Texas Driver's License required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills required.
