Construction Safety Technician (EHS)

Position Summary

We are seeking two experienced Construction Safety Technicians (EHS) to support construction and maintenance projects in the Houston 77058 area. This role is responsible for conducting after-hours safety inspections, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures, and helping maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.

Most inspections will be performed during evening and overnight hours, typically between 4:00 PM and 2:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field safety inspections of construction and maintenance projects.
• Inspect work environments, equipment, and work practices for compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
• Identify hazards and enforce workplace safety procedures.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports with accurate documentation and observations.
• Immediately report injuries, incidents, and serious safety concerns.
• Conduct and document daily safety meetings.
• Provide safety oversight for special projects as assigned.
• Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment for employees and contractors.
• Perform additional Environmental, Health, and Safety duties as required.

QualificationsRequired Experience

• Experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, or a related field.
• Experience conducting field safety inspections on construction, roofing, industrial, or maintenance projects.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and work comfortably at heights, including rooftops.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work overnight shifts, occasional weekends, and variable schedules based on project demands.

Site Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must provide a Certified Birth Certificate (with State Seal), U.S. Passport, or Citizenship Documentation on the first day of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills required.
