Industrial Painter Pay Rate and Hours:
- Pay: $20-$26/hr
- Days and hours: Mon-Fri, Hours: 1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm

An Industrial Painter is responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to metal, machinery, and structural surfaces in industrial settings. This role ensures surfaces are properly prepared and coated to protect against corrosion, wear, and environmental conditions while meeting quality and safety standards.

An Industrial Painter is responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to metal, machinery, and structural surfaces in industrial settings. This role ensures surfaces are properly prepared and coated to protect against corrosion, wear, and environmental conditions while meeting quality and safety standards.
Industrial Painter Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, blasting, or applying primers
- Mix and apply paints, coatings, and finishes using spray guns, rollers, or brushes
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and coating requirements
- Ensure proper thickness and even application of coatings
- Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure quality and durability
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools
- Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals, solvents, and coatings
- Monitor drying and curing processes
- Perform touch-ups and repairs on painted surfaces as needed
- Keep accurate records of materials used and work completed
Industrial Painter Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be able to paint with HVLP and cup guns, use a 2-part epoxy primer and a 2-part urethane, and a MUST is applying a ZINC primer.
- Proven experience as an industrial painter or similar role
- Knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and surface preparation
- Experience using spray equipment (airless, HVLP, conventional)
- Understanding of safety practices and chemical handling
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Industrial Painter Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 40–60 lbs
- Standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights (if required)
- Tolerance for exposure to fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures
