Job Description
Industrial Engineer / Manufacturing Process Specialist – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Contract-to-Hire | 1st Shift | $65,000-$80,000 to start
Direct Hire is a possibility!

Have you spent your career in sheet metal fabrication, CNC programming, manufacturing, or product design? Even if you've never held the title of "Engineer," we'd like to talk with you.

We're looking for a hands-on manufacturing professional who understands how sheet metal products are designed and built. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a fabrication shop, supported production, created CAD drawings, programmed lasers or turret punches, or helped improve manufacturing processes.
If you've learned engineering through real-world manufacturing experience, this could be an excellent fit.

What You'll Do
You'll work closely with production, customers, and leadership to develop practical manufacturing solutions and help move projects from concept to production.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Create and modify sheet metal designs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and production documentation
  • Program laser and turret punch equipment using Striker software (or similar CNC programming software)
  • Support production by troubleshooting manufacturing issues and improving processes
  • Work alongside fabrication personnel to improve efficiency and product quality
  • Develop prototypes and recommend design improvements that reduce cost and improve manufacturability
  • Maintain bills of materials, drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Collaborate with customers, production, purchasing, and management to keep projects moving
This Position Could Be a Great Fit If You've Worked As A:
  • Manufacturing Engineer
  • Manufacturing Process Specialist
  • CAD Designer
  • Mechanical Designer
  • Product Designer
  • CNC Programmer
  • Laser Programmer
  • Turret Punch Programmer
  • Sheet Metal Designer
  • Fabrication Supervisor
  • Production Supervisor
  • Manufacturing Technician
  • Process Technician
  • Tooling Specialist
  • Sheet Metal Fabricator with CAD experience
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working in a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
  • Experience programming CNC equipment such as lasers, turret punches, or press brakes is a plus
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, tooling, tolerances, and manufacturing methods
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve production problems
  • Someone who enjoys being on the shop floor and working directly with production teams – not just sitting behind a desk
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
  • Custom metal fabrication
  • Retail display manufacturing
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
  • Product development from concept through production
Why Join Us?
  • Contract-to-Hire opportunity with long-term potential
  • Work on a wide variety of custom manufacturing projects
  • Be part of a collaborative team where your ideas matter
  • Hands-on role with significant production floor involvement
  • Competitive pay based on experience
Don't let the title discourage you.
If you've built your career through manufacturing, fabrication, CNC programming, CAD drafting, or production support, and you understand how sheet metal products are made, we encourage you to apply. We're looking for practical experience and problem-solving ability – not just an engineering degree.
